5 to 34 – School run

My son's school is about 5 minutes drive from home... can you guess what I'm grateful for today? I've literally seen the school being built from what used to be a bush to be a full nursery, primary and high school that it's become today. I couldn't for the life of me understand why they build so much parking either (another whole school could be built on the parking lot space). His mom usually drops him off in the morning, but today I had a turn. Yoh! It was like Christmas eve at a mall, no parking - and when I found and wanted to leave, I couldn't. I'm strongly considering walking him to school next time, then run back. That could sort out my morning workout programme, right?

Anyway, I missed my Grid class at gym. I couldn't bring myself to hit the streets for a run this morning, so gym it was. I settled to try a PB on the treadmill, only managed 5km's in the allowed 30 minutes. It's not a horrible time, I'll still make sub 2h30m with that pace at tomorrow's run.

I read my bible reading much later than usual today. I'm on a new reading plan now, and today's scripture kind of reinforced Wednesday's message about blessing my children:

But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. ~ James 1:22 (NLT)

Afterall, children learn by imitation, right?!

This has been a rather busy week, full of distractions I hadn't fully planned for and I'm really behind with work. I've spent the day trying close some of my low lying fruit tasks, and for the most part, I did. I've adjusted my plan for the next few weeks, so for now, things look okay'ish.
