I’m a Johannesburg based tech enthusiast, a University of KwaZulu-Natal graduate, founder and manager of World8 CDA, aspiring writer, husband in the making, father to a super talented 2010’er and just a guy who’s learning, building and growing.
By day I am a software developer for a respectable Sandton based financial services firm, developing Windows based applications mainly with C# (on .net 4 framework) and T-SQL (using MSSQL Server 2008), also doing business reporting on SSRS, among other things.
By night I do web design and development for World8 CDA – self inflicted punishment in the form of HTML, CSS, Java Script (and JQuery in the shorter nights), MySql, a bit of PHP to hack the two popular CMS’ (Joomla, WordPress).
I am a self-taught graphics designer. GIMP (sometimes in conjuction with Inkscape) is my primary graphic authoring and/or manipulation tool. Photoshop too, well, sometimes. I also take a keen interest in technology enabled marketing and use World8 CDA as the vehicle to pursue this interest. World8 CDA is a collaborative consultancy – developing technology enabled marketing ideas from Concepts, to Designs and making useful Applications (products) of such.
I author 3 different blogs, one of stuff that interest me (Bigger Than A Name), one of about parenthood (Diaries Of A Noob Dad), another about thoughts that I would like to share (Conversations With Myself) but not able to put them in the other two blogs, in the name of focus ofcourse.
